Memories
of the
original Trail
Located
across from
our house,
Meeting House
Run Road,
which
eventually
became a
tractor trail,
was lined with
aged trees for
the first
twenty years
we lived here.
About five
years ago
the pasture
land adjacent
to the trail
on both sides
was sold to
farmers and
they did away
with all but
three trees.
After losing
the trees and
narrowing the
well-trodden
path to about
8 feet it lost
its antiquated
charm. The now
barren trail
is still
walked by a
few of us in
our
neighborhood.
The dogs are
always pleased
when Brooksyne
takes them
along to see
the ducks,
geese, birds
and critters
that swim in
the Donegal
Springs Creek
1/4 mile
beyond this
part of the
trail.

Message
summary:
Today
let us
consider a
little
referenced man
in the
Colossian
church named
Epaphras.
He was a New
Testament long
snapper.

"He also
informed us of
your love in
the Spirit"
Of course
this is
primarily a
commendation
to the church
but it also
speaks of
Epaphras'
character. The
church had
some problems
which Paul
addressed in
his letter in
chapter 2 but
Epaphras also
knew the
importance of
a good report.
There's a lot
of bad news in
our world
which is to be
expected when
people choose
not to walk
with God. But
it's
especially
troubling when
there is
scandal,
dissension, or
backbiting
within the
church where
people choose
to walk with
God. May those
who attend our
House of
Worship see
the
congregation's
love in the
Spirit of God
and for their
fellow
believers. Be encouraged today, Hebrews 3:13
