Let us all, both young and old, live our lives to please the Lord! It's not complicated. Listen to our message on your audio player.
"For
consider your
calling,
brothers: not
many of you
were wise
according to
worldly
standards, not
many were
powerful, not
many were of
noble birth.
But God chose
what is
foolish in the
world to shame
the wise; God
chose what is
weak in the
world to shame
the strong;
God chose what
is low and
despised in
the world,
even things
that are not,
to bring to
nothing things
that are, so
that no human
being might
boast in the
presence of
God” (1
Corinthians
1:26-30). “But
I am afraid
that, as the
serpent
deceived Eve
by his
craftiness,
your minds
will be led
astray from
the simplicity
and purity of
devotion to
Christ” (2
Corinthians
11:3). On one of these trips Pat and Laverne brought along their young granddaughter , Grace , who was three years old at the time. As we waited for our meal Grace informed us that she wanted to sing a song she had just learned and proceeded to sing aloud expressing her faith in Christ.
She
spelled the
name J-E-S-U-S
to the jingle
tune of
B-I-N-G-O, and
finished with
“And Jesus was
His name-o”!
The server
came to take
our order but
Grace wasn’t
done and
without
hesitation
continued
until the
little song
was complete.
What a delight
little
children bring
to life! She
was expressing
the simplicity
of the Gospel. B e encouraged today, Hebrews 3:13 Stephen & Brooksyne Weber
Note:
However even
the most
brilliant and
learned minds
can only
scratch the
surface of the
wisdom and
knowledge of
God. “Oh,
the depth of
the riches
both of the
wisdom and
knowledge of
God!”
(Romans
11:33).
Elsewhere Paul
writes of “Christ
Himself, in
whom are
hidden all the
treasures of
wisdom and
knowledge”
(Colossians
2:2,3).

alluded to in
today's
message. Kansas City's Plaza lights shine bright for 96th annual event (video) We received a note from Duke, a reader from Maryland, concerning our message about walking in the darkness from last Friday. In it I referred to driving early in the morning before sunrise and came upon a man in black clothing walking with the traffic and I barely saw him. Over the
years, I've
had the same
scenario on a
number of
occasions,
like yourself,
I'm very
thankful I've
hit none of
them! And
occasionally a
few of those
walking in
dark clothing
were actually
over the
"white line"
and walking on
part of the
main road! I've made it a point to slowly u-turn back around, pull up alongside of them safely (traffic!) and give them a highly reflective band (these work well) to wrap around their arm, accompanied by a great Christian Tract that carries the Gospel message! So I'm covering both bases, their literal dark clothing with the reflective band, and giving them info on their current "spiritual darkness" pointing them to the Light of our glorious Savior, Jesus Christ! Also admonishing them to please be more careful, and at least wear the reflective band! I keep a few on board of my vehicle, and generally a hundred or so tracts in English and Spanish. During the daytime, I've given a few reflectors to those guys cruising along the side of the road with electric wheelchairs for extra visibility, and follow up with the Gospel and a Christian Tract! That being said, a couple were walking on a dark back road with dark clothing that could hardly be seen on another occasion, and I had to swerve to miss them! After turning around and cautiously approaching them with my van window down, I was almost sprayed with Pepper Spray. I told them both" No, No! I'm a good guy, and I couldn't see you, please accept these reflectors and this Gospel Tract. Hope to see a few in the Kingdom!!
We commend Duke for his creative and caring witness!
