Faith in
a Modern
World" (Part
2) Message summary: In an age of constant and increasingly rapid change, there is strength in holding fast to the "ancient paths", the timeless truths of God’s Word and the simple, faithful habits that shape a life anchored in Christ.

"This
is what the
Lord says:
'Stand at the
crossroads and
look; ask for
the ancient
paths, ask
where the good
way is, and
walk in it,
and you will
find rest for
your souls'"
(Jeremiah
6:16). My dad went home to be with the Lord just over 25 years ago. As we see the increasingly rapid changes in our world it sure would be interesting to have a conversation with him. Do you ever wonder, like me, if heaven's residents are aware of what is happening on here on earth?
In
his wildest
imagination
could my dad
have projected
how much
change there
would be in
just 25 years?
Of course
there are
changes in
every
generation but
regarding the
moral
free-fall
there's
nothing like
the last 25
years such as
rejecting
God's clear
instruction on
marriage and
family
composition,
His design in
creating us
male and
female,
attitudes
toward work
and so much
more. Though I
grew up in the
Midwest where
my mom and dad
were also
raised, could
any U.S.
resident have
imagined
25
years ago
what has
happened to
New York City?
In
our fast-paced
culture, it is
easy to feel
pressured to
keep up, to
adopt every
new trend or
technology,
and to dismiss
the wisdom of
those who came
before us.
The
apostle Paul
urged Timothy,
"But as for
you, continue
in what you
have learned
and have
firmly
believed"
(2 Timothy
3:14). This
encouragement
is for us as
well. We need
not be ashamed
of a faith
that is
steady,
simple, and
rooted in the
unchanging
Word of God. Whether you are young or old, your steadfast walk with the Lord is a testimony to His enduring goodness. Let us not grow weary of doing good, nor be embarrassed by the label "old-fashioned" when it means clinging to what is good, shunning the wrong, and living securely anchored in God’s solid foundation.

When
I dropped the
teacher off at
the wedding
yesterday
afternoon some
of the young
people were
playing
volleyball on
a makeshift
court on the
gravel
driveway. Note
the way they
attached the
net to the
buggies and at
least one
young lady is
playing
barefoot in
the gravel! In
the house I
could hear
them singing!

Driving down
this long farm

were drawn to
this huge tree

us wonder why
more windmills
aren't
painted. (Most
