"A
GPS For Life"
Message summary: We want to encourage all our fellow believers today. Whether you are in aplace of comfort and stability or in transition and shifting, keep an ear tuned to hear His voice. His daily dosage of direction is a divine GPS for life which is always available, always reliable, and always keep you on the right path! Listen to our message on your audio player.
“You
will make
known to me
the path of
life” (Psalm
16:11). Here in Lancaster County we treasure our covered bridges. Lancaster County has the most covered bridges in Pennsylvania and ranks second in the nation with nearly 30 surviving covered bridges. I have been through most of the covered bridges in the county in the course of our nearly 25 years we have lived here. Today's lead photo is the fourth bridge I passed through last Sunday when I was on the "Covered Bridge Classic" bike ride.
It's
the
Hunsecker’s
Mill covered
bridge, the
longest
covered bridge
in Lancaster
County and the
only one that
is unpainted.
It also has
floorboards
that run from
side to side
(rather than
end to end),
offering a
unique
crossing
experience,
especially the
distinct
clatter of a
horse and
buggy going
through!
Years
ago I was at a
safety meeting
for service
truck drivers
at JK
Mechanical.
The
drivers use
GPS and
Ken,
the service
manager,
shared an
interesting
story
encouraging
them to use
common sense
as well as the
GPS.
So
today let's
consider a
lesson from
GPS. Brooksyne
often uses GPS
but most of
the time I
would rather
just find out
where I am
going and how
to get there
beforehand the
old-fashioned
way by eyeing
the route out
on a map! Our text today almost sounds like the description of a GPS, doesn’t it? "You will make known to me the path of life” (Psalm 16:11). We might consider this a divine GPS for life! One aspect
of using GPS
is that it
provides the
directions
step by step.
If you follow
it you don’t
know your next
turn till
shortly before
it’s time to
make the turn.
Essentially it
provides doses
of information
as you need
them. (Of
course you can
also look at
the entire
route if you
want.)
There’s a
spiritual
application
here, of
course. We may
very well want
directions
from the Lord
long before He
gives them to
us. It would
be interesting
if, following
our birth, we
received not
just a birth
certificate
but a life
map. The path
of life would
be highlighted
from our first
breath to our
last. Be encouraged today! Hebrews 3:13 Stephen & Brooksyne Weber

A
bit of humor
for the day:
Over the years
we've received
a lot of
comments from
all over the
world
concerning our
messages. We
never know how
someone has
come across
our writing
ministry.
Today we
received a
comment from
Jasmine who
told us she
watched Barney
with her son
Abraham (I
assume she
meant the
dinosaur
Barney show).
She looked
online to see
what Barney
meant in the
Bible and came
across this
message
where we told
about Barnabas
and a nickname
"Barney the
Encourager"!

Hunsecker's

not only had
the truck
incident
mentioned in
our message
but this
rather crazy
story: Car

County covered

(this report
has photos and
some
interesting
comments)
Finally
today from
Brooksyne:

"Then
Sings My Soul"
- A dear choir
friend, Bette,
and I
thoroughly
enjoyed "Then
Sings My Soul"
last evening
in Strasburg
in the Barn at
Paradise
Station. The
vocal talents
of "Perfect
Harmony"
featured Sarah
Poague, Kat
Prickett and
Ric Zimmerman
who were
accompanied by
a very gifted
pianist
Katrina King.
They
sang beloved
hymns inspired
by the
ministry of
Billy Graham
(many of the
hymns we've
come to love
over the
decades).
Kat Prickett
(far right)
was introduced
to Billy
Graham
(1918-2018)
and his
crusades as a
child by her
grandparents
and as an
adult created
this wonderful
program
honoring
Graham, by
many,
considered to
be the most
influential
Christian
leader of the
20th century.
Prickett
created this
wonderful
tribute in
song to the
powerful
ministry of
Billy Graham.

The words
written in
1886 by
Swedish Pastor
Carl Boberg
and translated
several times
before the
words were
handed to
George Bev
Shea in 1954
during the
London
Crusade. The
hymn was
shortly
thereafter
published in
North America
and made
famous by the
Billy Graham
Crusades at
the Madison
Square Garden
meetings of
1957. It
was sung a
total of 99
times since it
was the
featured theme
song of the
crusade. Billy Graham Madison Square Garden This is an 11 minute video featuring Billy Graham at the MSQ crusade in 1957. You can hear a portion of his sermon and see the thousands upon thousands in attendance. You can also see a young George Bev Shea leading the 2000 voice choir in "How Great Thou Art" though unfortunately that portion of the video has no sound. Note: We consider two longtime friends and readers who were saved at a Billy Graham Crusade, Bob Southard and Sharon Campany.
