Listen
to our message
on your audio
player. Over fifty years ago Bill and Gloria Gaither wrote a song that most of us have probably sung and many will know the words by heart, "Because he Lives". Of course the chorus is most familiar: Because He
lives, I can
face tomorrow, The second
verse of the
song starts
with the line,
"How sweet to
hold a newborn
baby" which
comes to mind
as we consider
today's first
Bible text
concerning a
devout man
named Simeon
who held the
infant Jesus
in his arms at
the time
Joseph and
Mary presented
Him to the
Lord (Luke
2:22). We
wrote a message
on that text
several years
ago but I
consider today
how Simeon
held in his
arms the same
God who holds
us in His
everlasting
arms! What a fellowship, what a joy divine, Leaning on the everlasting arms! What a blessedness, what a peace is mine, Leaning on the everlasting arms! Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms; Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.
Be encouraged today, Hebrews 3:13

We are having unseasonably warm weather with temps in the sixties yesterday and in the mid-fifties again today so I have been able to do some winter bike riding. These goats ran up to greet me along the fence line as I was riding on Trout Run Road yesterday afternoon. This year I have ridden my bike enough total miles (over 1,000) to get from our home to the Kansas City area where I grew up!
